For some reason I have never thought to freeze milk, but it is a good idea and a quick way to preserve it when short of time!

I'm also usually really disorganised and this week is the first time I've done a meal plan with the food already in my cupboards. It does makes a lot of sense though!

If you think you aren't going to use the second lot, stick it in the freezer. Then if you think you ARE going to need it after all, you can defrost it when you're a day or two away from running out. And if not, you've got a backup bottle for when you forget to buy any.

I have been throwing away painful amounts of food this week. I cried when I threw away a whole tub of gooseberries because they'd been pushed to the back of the fridge and gone mouldy out of sight. I am trying very hard to stop – it's just lack of organisation in my case (meal planning with the food I actually have will make a big difference).
