Clothes swapping/ sharing

Have you ever considered swapping clothes with a friend?  It is a great way to get rid of some clothes that you are never going to wear again and to get some new ones for free.  Especially with the party season coming up, if you don’t want to wear the same clothes you wore last year a great girls night in could involve a bottle of wine and a dress swapping session.
You don’t need to wait for a special occassion to swap or give clothes to friends however. A couple of months ago I mentioned to a friend that I needed some new clothes.  I casually threw in a remark about thinking it was a good idea to ask around whether anyone had any clothes going spare and I hit the jackpot.
My friend is getting married in a few months and has gone on a major diet losing lots of weight and is looking great for it.  I on the other hand haven’t gone on a major diet and her clothes fit me perfectly at the moment (I am hoping to follow in her footsteps).  It’s great, as I now have loads of new clothes which I haven’t had to pay for.  I also like the fact that I am wearing clothes that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought of buying, as it has given me some new wardrobe ideas!
When I was pregnant my mum bought me some lovely maternity wear as a gift.  I wore the clothes throughout my two pregnancies and now they are rotating through my pregnant friends.  It is great to think that they are being reused again and again.  At some point down the line I will probably sell them on at an NCT nearly new sale (http://www.nct.org.uk/branches/events/nearly-new-sales), but it is lovely to be able to help out my pregnant friends for the time being.
Have you shared or swapped your clothes with anyone?  I would love to hear your stories!
